Some kind words from our students!

"Really enjoyable & useful, Charlotte's friendly nature really helped, very reassuring"

Charlotte was lovely, really down to earth and informative. A lot of good information to take on board and implement in your practice. The small size of the group was nice too which meant it was very personal.

Nutrition Consultation Training

Often applying our nutrition knowledge can seem a bit daunting if we haven't had an opportunity to shadow a nutritionist or gain experience within our nutrition careers. In this online training talk, we will run through the basics of how to conduct a nutrition consultation and give you the opportunity to practice with a fellow nutritionist, whereby you take it in turns to be the client or nutritionist conducting a nutrition consultation.

This training is run in small groups by Charlotte Turner RNutr a highly experienced CPD educator with 10 years of nutrition experience.

Training topics:

  • Understanding the structure of a nutrition consultation.

  • What the pre-assessment phase is and its importance.

  • How to introduce a consultation

  • Setting the scene during your consultation.

  • The assessment guide

  • Building client relationships and putting the client at ease

  • How to structure the consultation

  • How to facilitate the consultation through appropriate questions and body language

  • Working with the client and setting client goals

  • How to close the consultation and what are the next steps.

  • Maintaining AFN professional standards and confidentiality at all times.

  • 20-30 minute optional role-play to practice a consultation using break out rooms

  • Q+A for the live sessions

This training series is designed for recent nutrition graduates, associate nutritionists, or registered nutritionists wishing to start seeing freelance clients. This is an online session delivered in small groups with time for a Q+A at the end.

Very happy for attending this and I will be glad to attend any future sessions run by charlotte.

Very happy with the session with charlotte. She was very good at explaining the basics and she made me feel like very capable of doing it. I really liked the role play at the end although I was “scared” at the beginning.
